BAIT FAVORED BY LARGE TROUT

The Dobson fly is a large insect that can get as large as 1” in length. Dobson flies spend most of their lives, up to 4 years, in the larval stage. While in this stage, they are called HELLGRAMMITES. The hellgrammites live under rocks in swift streams or rivers, and indeed, are the bait that is preferred by large trout. For more information on locating, collecting and handling these Hellgrammites, please click on Class 103 Bait & Lures .

This trout fishing sounds like too much work. Hiking to a distant stream, falling into the stream, having the right bait, keeping your line out of the water (which seems impossible to do as the hook and bait are attached to the line) etc.

I think sitting in a chartered boat, puting the bait picked out by the captain of the boat on the line, then just relaxing until a fish decides to take the bait. Even if you catch nothing it is a very relaxing time.

I'm jealous that Jim now has his very own sign on and password. I know, I know---I could also register at Trout U. I look at it this way: I don't have to because, believe me, I can hear the Trout U lessons from our computer in any room in this house when Jim plays them.

Do you sell earmuffs?
